The residents of Carl Junction passed a General Obligation bond in April 2008.  The bond issue was used to build the community's first Community Center.  It contains the City Hall, a Senior Center and a Gymnasium.

With the growth and development of the city we have reached and exceeded capacity for some of the services that the residents of Carl Junction enjoy.  This multi-purpose building brings 3 services under one roof and will complete what the citizens have requested for several years.  A space for a media center, community meeting room, health and wellness center and a gymnasium are all included in the building.  The building has been constructed with expansion in mind.  If one of the programs or activities needs more room it can be easily added onto or adjacent land is available for more buildings. 

Living in a community that is growing and planning for the future provides benefits to everyone.  This will allow for the continued positive growth and development within our city.  It will be a statement to visitors that the residents of Carl Junction care about and take care of those that come to our community.

Community Center News Updates:

The Carl Junction Community Center is now OPEN! Stop by anytime to visit the Community featuring the new City Hall, the Senior Citizen Center and Chamber of Commerce. Also, take advantage of the Cardio/Fitness room and Gymnasium. The Carl Junction Community Center is located at 303 N. Main Street, behind the CJ Police Station.

• The Carl Junction Community Center Fitness Center requires membership to access the fitness room. Click here for details and membership costs for Carl Junction residents and non-residents.
• The Gymnasium is free to the public to use year-around. The Gymnasium includes 6 basketball goals and one or two volleyballs courts with a divider in the middle. The City of Carl Junction will provide all basketballs and volleyballs. Outside basketballs and volleyballs will not be allowed in the gymnasium.
