The Leggett and Platt Center on the campus of Missouri Southern State University was once again the venue for the Carl Junction High School commencement ceremony.  This was the second year that the R-1 district took advantage of the larger accommodations for the graduation event.

Dr. Phil Cook, superintendent of schools, Georgianna McGriff, high school principal, and Dr. Robert Herron, school board president, all addressed the class of 2009.  One hundred seventy-seven students earned their diplomas in 2009.

Valedictorians and the class salutatorian also addressed their classmates and guests.  Valedictorians for 2009 were Shayla Hill, Katie Johnson and Shane Withrow; Carrie Sandy was 2009 salutatorian.
